1. Overview:
1.1 Scope of Work:
Provide, deliver, install, test, commission, and hand over a complete set of split-type air conditioning training equipment suitable for a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) laboratory.
This equipment include a fully functional split-type air conditioning system mounted on a mobile training platform, including indoor and outdoor units, instruments, fault simulation modules, accessories, and teaching documentation.
The equipment will be complete in all aspects and immediately usable for teaching.
1.2 Purpose:
The training equipment is capable of: demonstrating the installation steps of a split-type air conditioner; learning about the refrigeration cycle and system components; operating in cooling and heating modes; conducting practical maintenance and troubleshooting exercises; performing measurement and performance analysis; and providing training in system fault diagnosis.
1.3 Applicable Standards:
The equipment comply with applicable international standards, including but not limited to:
IEC electrical safety standards; ISO refrigeration system standards; local electrical and laboratory safety
regulations; and environmental standards related to refrigerant handling. All refrigerants supplied comply with international environmental regulations.
2. System Description:
The split-type air conditioning training device is based on an actual commercial split-type air conditioning system and include the following components:
One indoor wall-mounted evaporator unit
One outdoor condenser unit (inverter type)
Integrated refrigeration piping with maintenance interface
Instrument panel
Fault simulation system Both the indoor and outdoor units will be mounted on a general-purpose aluminum alloy structure training frame with heavy-duty casters.
System operating modes are: Cooling mode; Heating mode (reverse circulation operation)
3. Mechanical Structure:
3.1 Training Platform:
Dimensions: 1200 mm (L) × 1000 mm (W) × 1750 mm (H). Rigid aluminum bracket structure
Four heavy-duty casters: two with brakes; two without brakes
Clear layout for easy maintenance and operation instructions
All components are labeled with text and refrigeration circuit diagrams.
3.2 Refrigeration System:
Refrigerant: R410A or an approved equivalent refrigerant
Outdoor Unit (Condenser Section) include: Inverter compressor, 220VAC. Refrigerant: R410A or equivalent. Condenser capacity: 4.1 kW. Cooling method: Forced air cooling. Evaporator capacity:
3.5 kW. Cooling method: Direct expansion. Capillary tube refrigeration controller. Welded filter drier.
Three-way inspection valve: Gas line: 3/8 inch; Liquid line: 1/2 inch
Indoor unit (wall-mounted evaporator): Wall-mounted; integrated temperature controller; can operate normally in both cooling and heating modes
3.3 Refrigeration circuit accessories:
The refrigeration system includes: inspection window (welded); manual valves (at least 2, flared connection, Φ6)
High pressure gauge and low pressure gauge: Low pressure: -30 to 500 psi (0–35 kg/cm²); High pressure: 0–800 psi (0–55 kg/cm²)
High and low pressure controller
Flared threaded connection Φ6 mm
4. Electrical System:
Power Requirements: Single-phase 220V ±10%; Frequency: 50Hz; Rated Current: 16A
Control Panel: The instrument control panel include: Pointer voltmeter (0–250V)
Pointer ammeter (0–10A)
On/off control
16A residual current circuit breaker
10A overload protector
Key-operated switch (self-locking)
Emergency stop button (self-locking)
At least five indicator lights
Four digital temperature displays
All wiring will be internally wired and clearly labeled.
Temperature Measurement: The digital temperature display unit meets the following requirements: Power supply: 220V ±10%; Range: -50°C to +110°C; Accuracy: ±0.5°C; Resolution: 0.1°C; Sensor type: NTC thermistor with protective cover; Quantity: 4 sets
5. Fault Simulation System:
The equipment includes: at least ten (10) independent fault setting units; fault diagnosis and testing modules
The system will be able to simulate common air conditioning faults for training purposes.
6. Instruments and Training Accessories:
Dual-compound pressure gauge set (compatible with R410A, R404A, R407C, R134a, R22)
Wrench set (7 pieces)
Digital anemometer: wind speed: 0.3–45 m/s; temperature measurement function
Flaring and flaring tool set: metric: 6–19 mm; imperial: 1/4"–3/4"
Toolbox includes: 2-liter oxygen cylinder; gas cylinder; welding torch; ultrasonic leak detector; two-stage vacuum pump; neon lamp test pen (12–250V); R410A refrigerant.
Practical training manual
7. Functional Requirements:
This system allow students to perform: identification of split air conditioner components; training on the installation of split air conditioner systems; observation of refrigeration cycles; measurement and acquisition of experimental data; application of enthalpy-humidity charts; system fault diagnosis; performance calculations; analysis, discussion, and reporting.
